Yazoo County VINELink Coverage
Mississippi calls its notification service MS SAVIN, delivered through VINE and VINELink. It uses electronic booking information supplied by participating county and state agencies. MDOC says reportable events can include release, transfer, return to custody from abscond supervision, and escape or abscond supervision. An absconder is a person alleged to have left supervision without authorization; it is not a release type.
Coverage can include a participating Yazoo County record and an MDOC offender record. It does not convert every jail, prison, or court database into one complete history. The reporting agency still defines the event. A “release” from one agency may be parole, community release, or a handoff, depending on the underlying movement. A “transfer” points to continued custody.
VINELink is not the BOP locator for FCI Yazoo City Low, Medium, or Low II, and it is not ICE's locator. Federal and immigration records need their own channels. The Yazoo County release search explains how those custody systems divide.
Search Yazoo County VINELink Records

The live interface controls which fields appear for a particular record. Mississippi research supports reading identity, reporting agency, status or event, location when shown, and the update time. Do not promise a fixed release-date field or exact wording across all county and MDOC records. Transcribe what the current record says.

A scheduled or tentative date is not the same as an actual release event. MDOC uses the exact public label “Tentative Release Date” on offender details. Confirm an actual state event through MDOC Records and the effective release or discharge record.
Register Yazoo County Release Alerts
Registration begins from the correctly matched record, not from a general county list. Choose “Get Notified” or the current equivalent only after comparing the person and agency. Confirm Yazoo VINELink Release Events
An automated alert is a timely lead, not the final legal record. For a local booking, ask the Sheriff or facility for the effective movement time, how the docket says the person was released or discharged, and any destination. Pair that with the court order when the authority matters. A current roster disappearance is weaker than this combination.
For an MDOC offender, compare the MDOC inmate search, parolee search, and Records response. A location change can be a transfer. Earned-release supervision can place a person outside prison while the person remains under MDOC jurisdiction. Parole is conditional community supervision after an MDOC release, while discharge ends the sentence.
For a Yazoo City episode, ask Police whether the person left municipal holding for the community or for county custody. The city code permits either path, so absence from the small holding facility is inconclusive.
Yazoo Registration Link Transfers
Mississippi's Registration Link can carry a county VINE registration into MDOC or “other custody.” This local layer is especially useful at Yazoo Regional Correctional Facility. The facility operates under the Sheriff in a regional arrangement and houses contracted adult male MDOC prisoners, so movement between legal record systems can occur even when the place name looks similar.
A forwarded registration helps preserve notice continuity, but it does not redefine the event. A county record may close because MDOC accepted custody. The correct description is then a county-to-state transfer, not release home. Follow the MDOC number, receiving location, location-change date, and time record. Multiple changes close together can also produce multiple alerts.
Keep each notice with its reporting agency and timestamp. Then request the effective record from that agency. This prevents one alert from being stretched into a claim about every custody system.

Read Yazoo SAVIN Events
MS SAVIN event words answer what the reporting system sent, not every legal question about the person. Read each event with the agency, time, and custody episode. A county release may end one booking. A state release may place an offender on parole or earned-release supervision. A transfer points to a new custodian and should not be described as freedom.

A release notice can arrive near a transfer notice when one custody layer ends and another begins. Keep both. At Yazoo's hybrid regional facility, that sequence may document a county-to-MDOC handoff. Ask for the local transfer receipt and then match the MDOC number, location, and location-change date.
Route Yazoo VINELink Checks
For a county or regional booking, call Yazoo Regional Correctional Facility at 662-751-8484 and the Sheriff at 662-746-5611. Ask for the booking number, effective movement time, release or discharge manner, authority, and destination. A narrow written request can obtain the statutory jail-docket history when a phone response is not enough.
For a state prisoner, MDOC Records controls time computation and the actual release or discharge record. The public offender detail may show a tentative date, location, sentence facts, and photograph. The separate parolee search helps when the person is believed to be on parole. Neither a blank field nor a missing search result proves final discharge.
For a federal prisoner at FCC Yazoo City, use the BOP Inmate Locator. An explicit “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” result ends the BOP episode, but another system or supervision can remain. If the record documents an immigration handoff, use ICE's limited locator and direct agency channel. VINELink does not cover those federal routes.
Conflicting results should be sorted by person, time, and record owner. First confirm the name and identifier. Next compare the event time with the system's update time. Then ask what custody episode each source describes. A court order may authorize movement, MS SAVIN may report an agency event, and MDOC may still display a sentence record. All can be accurate while answering different questions. Request an audit or history from the owner of the disputed field instead of asking one agency to correct another agency's data.
Preserve the notice without spreading more personal data than needed. Save the source address, access date, reporting agency, identifier, exact event words, and update time. If the agency corrects the entry, keep the written response with the earlier observation. This creates a clear record of what changed and avoids treating a transient screen as the full Yazoo County custody history.
A court order can help explain why an agency acted. Yazoo Municipal Court handles city misdemeanors and traffic matters, Justice Court handles county matters and felony first appearances, County Court can set bond in applicable cases, and Circuit Court keeps felony judgments. Find the right clerk from the cause number and arresting agency. The order may predate the physical move and may cover only one charge. Compare it with the custodian's effective event rather than using the docket label as a release alert.
For an MDOC release to parole, the parolee search and assigned Community Corrections office add a post-release layer. A parole result shows conditional supervision, not unconditional discharge.
